Will Ferrell to battle dinosaurs
The 'Anchorman' star is all set to appear in a big screen revival of Sid and Marty Krofft's most outlandish TV creation.
Apr 27 2005
Will Ferrell is all set to star in a big-screen adaptation of the classic TV series 'Land of the Lost'.
The film will see Ferrell re-team with his 'Anchorman' director Adam McKay, while Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas have been signed on to write the screenplay.
'Land of the Lost' was one of the many popular shows created by Sid and Marty Krofft in the early 1970s, along with such flights of fancy as 'The Bugaloos', 'Sigmund and the Sea Monsters' and their most famous creation, 'HR Pufnstuf'.
'Lost' told of a picnicking family who are sucked into a time vortex and transported to a prehistoric land where they must do battle with dinosaurs, lizard-people and the like.
It ran from 1973-77 and was briefly (though unsuccessfully) revived in 1991.
Any film that features Ferrell fighting a bunch of dinosaurs has got us interested, although it could be a while before the project sees the light of day as McKay is about to produce, direct and co-write (again with Ferrell) the NASCAR racing comedy 'Talladega Nights'.
