'Sin City 2' in the works
Hot on the heels of the success of the original, Frank Miller has announced that he is already scripting a follow-up.
May 18 2005
Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez will soon start work on a sequel to 'Sin City'.
The tentatively titled 'Sin City 2' will again be directed by the pair, although there is no word yet as to whether Quentin Tarantino will return as a 'special guest' director this time around.
The first film, a visually stunning comic-book adaptation that is currently appearing 'In Competition' at Cannes, has already grossed more that $70 million in the US alone.
Starring Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Benicio Del Toro, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Brittany Murphy and Clive Owen, it was filmed entirely on green screens, a process that will be repeated with the sequel.
Whether any of that cast will return for the sequel remains a mystery for the moment, although with that kind of talent behind the camera, expect some equally impressive names to be announced soon.
And if you want to see what all the fuss is about, the ultra-violent original hits UK cinemas on June 2.

- I can't wait for the sequel to Sin City! I'm still in awe of the first one! I really hope Angelina Jolie will play Ava! Shes my favorite actress and I think she would fit in perfectly, with the Sin CIty world! I think that Robert Rodriguez should consider putting Ryan Reynolds, Justin Theroux, And the Rock in His movies! Posted on Feb 14 2006 17:26
