Tarantino and Rodriguez to enter 'Grind House'

The film will be an affectionate tribute to the cult genre pics of yesteryear.

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez have announced plans to collaborate on an intriguing new horror project called 'Grind House'.

Under the umbrella of the new Weinstein Company, the pair will each write and direct a 60-minute feature.

The two films will then be combined and packaged together with trailers, bonus material and a variety of assorted extras from other directors.

Inspired by New York's old-fashioned movie theatres that became famous for programming genre pictures back to back, the two filmmakers hope that the project will spawn a whole series of new 'Grind House' flicks.

This won't be the first time the two cult aficionados have worked together, however. Both directed segments of the 1995 film 'Four Rooms' while Tarantino wrote and starred in Rodriguez's 'From Dusk Till Dawn' and is a special guest director on his forthcoming comic book adaptation 'Sin City'.

Speaking of the project, the Weinsteins said: 'We couldn't imagine anything more exciting than a film being made together by the two godfathers of our company.'

And speaking of their plans for the future, Rodriguez added: 'This will be the first of a series of movies we'll be making for the Weinstein Co.'
