This Sunday (July 17) Maggie O'Farrell will be at the Curzon Soho cinema to present a very special screening of 'Time of the Gypsies'.

The acclaimed novelist will introduce the Emir Kusturica classic as part of Time Out's 'My Favourite Film' at the Curzon Soho season.

O'Farrell's debut novel, 'After You'd Gone', was published to international acclaim and won a Betty Trask Award for literature.

She has also written two further novels, 'My Lover's Lover' and 'The Distance Between Us', as well as working for the Poetry Society and the Independent on Sunday, where she was deputy literary editor.

As for 'Time of the Gypsies', Time Out called it 'astonishing and deeply moving' when it was released in 1989, and a full review can be found here.
