Haley Joel Osment heading for 'Home of the Giants'
The 'A.I.' star will take the lead in the forthcoming independent drama.
Aug 1 2005
After an absence of two years, child star Haley Joel Osment is all set to return to the big screen in an intriguing new coming-of-age drama.
The pint-sized star of 'The Sixth Sense' and 'A.I.' was last seen in 2003's 'Secondhand Lions', but since then there's barely been a peep from the youngster – until now that is.
Osment is all set to star in 'Home of the Giants', a new independent film that has been written and directed by first-timer Rusty Gorman.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot goes something like this:
Set in an Indiana town that lives for basketball, the story follows a teenager (Osment) who idolises one of the town's basketball stars. The teen and his best pal are befriended by the player, who ends up being anything but the hero they thought he was.
And while there is no news yet on other cast members, the film is all set to go into production in North Carolina early next month, meaning that it will probably hit screens early next year.
