Ali G to team up with Anchorman
Sacha Baron Cohen will star opposite Will Ferrell in a forthcoming racing comedy.
Aug 12 2005
In a meeting of two seriously funny minds, Sacha Baron Cohen has been cast opposite Will Ferrell in a new film about NASCAR racing.
The 'Ali G Indahouse' star, who recently won plaudits across the pond for his HBO comedy series and a scene-stealing vocal performance in 'Madagascar', will play gay, French Formula One driver Jean Girard in the forthcoming film.
The as yet untitled comedy will revolve around Ferrell's character Ricky Bobby, a hugely popular race driver who, together with John C Reilly's Cal Naughton, forms the feared and respected NASCAR partnership 'Thunder and Lightning'.
Michael Clarke Duncan ('The Island') and Gary Cole ('The Brady Bunch Movie') have also been cast in the comedy, which is due to go into production later this year.
