Tony Scott's 'Domino' to premiere in Montreal

The Keira Knightley film will close the inaugural Montreal FilmFest.

Sep  8 2005

The world premiere of Tony Scott's 'Domino' will take place the Montreal FilmFest later this month.

The action-packed biopic, which tells the tale of model-turned-bounty hunter Domino Harvey, was written by Richard Kelly and stars Keira Knightley, Mickey Rourke, Christopher Walken and Lucy Liu.

It will close the inaugural Festival International of Films de Montreal, which runs from September 18 to September 25.

Other films appearing at the new festival include Saul Metzstein's 'Guy X', Atom Egoyan's 'Where the Truth Lies' and the first international screening of Mark Cowen's Imax documentary 'Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3-D'.

The festival will truly be living up to its 'international' moniker too, with 185 films screening from more than 40 countries across the globe.

Fourteen of these films will be competeting for the Gold and Silver Iris awards, including Luc Picard's 'L'Audition' (Canada), Peter Entell's 'Josh's Trees' (Switzerland), Costa Nastis' 'Ikaro's Dream' (Greece) and Gabriele Salvatores' 'Quo Vadis, Baby?' (Italy).

Full details of the festival can be found here, and rest assured, we'll have news of all the award-winners just as soon as they are announced.
