Colin Farrell and Edward Norton to unite on 'Pride and Glory'
The heavyweight thespians will star in the New York police drama for director Gavin O'Conner.
Sep 27 2005
Colin Farrell and Edward Norton are in talks to star in a gritty drama about corrupt cops in the New York Police Department.
'Pride and Glory', which has been written by Gavin O'Connor ('Tumbleweeds') and Joe Carnahan ('Narc'), will tell the tale of a family whose lives revolve around the NYPD.
Norton will play a homicide detective assigned to investigate the precinct run by his older brother (Noah Emmerich). Farrell will star as the investigator's best friend, an officer who may or may not be dirty.
O'Conner, who is also directing the film, told Variety that the project is one that's close to his heart: 'My father was a New York City detective, and I grew up in that world. It's a celebration of honest cops, which was everything my father was about. Though it is fictional, it is an homage to my father.'
'Pride and Glory' is set to start shooting in New York in January.
Before then, Farrell will be seen in Terrence Malick's 'The New World' while Norton is starring in Neil Burger's 'The Illusionist'.

- How do I get a letter/ email to Colin Farrell thanking him for honoring my buddy Eric in his upcoming movie. Eric Hernandez was one of my best friends and I could not make it back from Iraq to say goodbye. I just want to tell him thank you. Posted on Mar 18 2006 12:39
