First pictures from 'Young Hannibal: Behind the Mask'
See Gaspard Ulliel in full cannibal mode.
Nov 1 2005
The long-gestating prequel 'Young Hannibal: Behind the Mask' is finally shooting in Prague, and we've got the first pictures of the film's Lecter junior.
Played by Gaspard Ulliel ('A Very Long Engagement'), the film will follow the young cannibal's journey from disturbed childhood into man-eating adulthood.
Scripted by Thomas Harris (who also wrote the novels 'Red Dragon', 'The Silence of the Lambs' and 'Hannibal') the film is being directed by 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' helmer Peter Webber.
And while the pictures give little away, Ulliel looks a little too angelic a psychopath for our liking, though we'll reserve judgement until the film is released late next year.

- I just pray that they follow harris' version of hannibals childhood. Like his sister mischa and his family being killed and eaten. Posted on Apr 22 2006 06:46
