Win tickets to a screening of 'Rize'
See this brilliant new documentary first and for free at a special Time Out screening.
Dec 2 2005
'Rize' is an award-winning documentary about a dance phenomenon that recently exploded on the streets of South Central LA.
The film revolves around Tommy the Clown, who first created the style as a response to the 1992 Rodney King riots and named it Clowning, and the kids who developed the movement into what they now call Krumping.
Using the dance as an alternative to a life of hustling and crime, they form their own troupes, paint their faces like warriors and meet up to outperform rival gangs of dancers.
'Rize' is released on December 30, but thanks to the lovely people at Rebus, we have 84 tickets for a special preview screening of the film on Tuesday, December 13 at 7pm at the Ritzy Brixton.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply send a first class SAE, marked 'Rize', to Time Out Online, 251 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 7AB by December 7.
The first 42 entries picked out of the hat will each receive a pair of tickets.
Terms and conditions.
