Steve Carell is getting smart
Peter Segal will direct 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' in a film version of the classic 60s series 'Get Smart'.
Dec 5 2005
Hot on the heels of 'The Equaliser' (see last week's story here), yet another TV show is making its way to the big screen in the shape of spy comedy 'Get Smart'.
The hugely popular 1960s series, which was created by Mel Brooks, tells the tale of Max Smart, a bungling government agent who works for the mysterious CONTROL to fight the evil forces of KAOS.
Steve Carell ('The 40-Year-Old Virgin') has already signed up to play Smart in the film, but now it seems that a pair of writers and a director have joined the project.
Tom Astle and Matt Ember are working on the script, while Peter Segal ('Anger Management', 'The Longest Yard') will helm the project, which is expected to go into production sometime next year.
