Woody Allen heading for Spain
The 'Match Point' director will shoot a film in Barcelona in 2007.
Jan 3 2006
Woody Allen, whose 'Match Point' is Time Out's current film of the week, has announced plans to shoot a film in Spain.
The writer-director, who made both 'Match Point' and forthcoming feature 'Scoop' in London, will film in Barcelona with the backing of local production company MediaPro.
And while Allen has yet to write the script for the pic, Jaume Roures, general director of MediaPro, told Daily Variety that they couldn't wait to get started.
'We're not excessively worried about the script because we know it will be great,' he explained. 'You can give Woody Allen carte blanche. We're just hoping to learn as much as we can in the process.'
Filming is set to start on the as-yet-untitled project in 2007, with Allen using a largely Spanish cast.
