Jason returns. Again.
Michael Bay plans to have a 'Friday the 13th' prequel in cinemas before the end of the year.
Feb 15 2006
Having successfully remade 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' through his horror label Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay has now announced plans to fast-track a 'Friday the 13th' prequel.
Bay, who blew shit up in the likes of 'Bad Boys', 'The Rock', 'Armageddon' and 'Pearl Harbor', is producing the pic, which will delve into the origins of hockey-mask-wearing horror icon Jason Voorhees.
It will be the 11th entry into the lucrative franchise, which kicked off with Sean S Cunningham's original 'Friday the 13th' way back in 1980.
And never one to let a good marketing opportunity pass him by, Bay plans to release the film later this year on Friday 13 October. No wonder they pay him the big bucks!
