Craig not Bond?
A website has been created with the express purpose of getting the new 007 fired.
Feb 24 2006
Daniel Craig is a favourite here at The TOMB, and while the early word on 'Casino Royale' hasn't exactly been great, the decision to cast him as Bond has us quietly optimistic.
So imagine our shock when we stumbled across this – www.craignotbond.com – a website dedicated to having Craig fired and replaced as 007.
Apparently, they don't like Craig because he is 'a short, blond actor with the rough face of a professional boxer and a penchant for playing killers, cranks, cads and gigolos.'
It all sounds like the work of individuals with a little too much time on their hands but, whatever the case, The TOMB will be content to reserve judgement until we actually see the film at the end of the year.
For now however, if you're a Craig hater, head to the above site and sign the petition, and if you're a fan of the man, perhaps you could set up www.craigisbondsogetstuffed.com.

- So Pierce Brosnan once said in an interview with Readers Digest that he could in fact not drive a stick shift. Well I bet you Daniel Craig can, so figure that out. I dont care if hes too tall and manish, but if he can't drive a stick shfit I don't want him playing Bond. Posted on Sep 14 2006 06:50

They tried to 're-invent' the series twice in the past: once with Lezenby and the second time with 'Licence To Kill' - in both time they failed miserably. they will fail again now. The fans (i.e. those who actually fo to the movie, and not some who barely watched a single movie, but still know exactly how to improve Bond) will never go along with changing the formula or bringing non-bondish looking actor.
and like in baseball, I'm afraid that the third strike will be the last one. Posted on Sep 06 2006 17:55 - Report as inappropriate

- Craig reminds me ALLOT of Alec Trevelyan and Red Grant (go see for yourself on the anti-craig site). So who really wants sophisticated, charming, suave, secret british agent, licence to kill (not to break the traffic rules) double-o-seven, vodka martini man, jimmy Bond to look like a supper villan? At the end of the movie, you wont know who wins... Just a thought Posted on Aug 29 2006 05:28

- Perhaps all of this quarrelsome bickering over whether or not Craig suits the Bond profile is premature. All we have for referance to the subject thus far are some trailers, commercials and writeups about the upcomming movie. If you were to ask a hard-core Bond fanatic such as myself their oppinion on the matter, they might say that indeed Pierce was getting old for the part (and Die Another Day did show some contrast in his age appart from The World is Not Enough and the other earlyer ones of his), but Hugh Jackman would have made a much better Bond. Austrailian or not, this man could make an excellent Bond. He has qualities that all of the previous Bonds possesed: The masculinity and streingth of Connery, the witty lightheartedness of Moore, the down-to-earth Dalton, the realistic swave style of Brosnan... and NOT the idiocy of Lazenby. Need I say more? Im not against Craig as an actor, but I think Barbra Broccoli could have done a better job picking the new Bond. I hope that this movie will turn out to be more traditional (Die Another Day was way to computer FX oriented. I.E. the bullet flying into the screen during the barrel seen at the begining, the windsurfing down an ice cliff... it was too much for me. Very unrealistic). As long as things turn out well, may Craig rule the Bond world for the next few years! Posted on Aug 29 2006 05:16

- Any actor after Pierce Brosnan would have the impossible challange to continue the role. Why? Because of the uncontroled human instinct to compare. In this case Anyone compared to Brosnan as 007 would pale big time. No doubt Craig is politely said terrible. He may be a good actor, I don't know that, but the problem is that he is terrible for the role. He's ugly, let alone sexy, he lacks charm, he's not sleek and suave, he's a stiff! He is the ultimate anti-Bond. That's why the fans are so upset. They live with the legend and want the actor through who the legend lives on to live up to the legend. But think again - it is not Craig to blame. It is the production company. They wanted a change but had no clue what to do. Then, in the rush, they just got rid of Brosnan thinking they had everything planned and under control but instead found themselves without the most imortant - the Bond. Time was running out, deadlines and budgets shrinking and in a moment of panic they just picked one. A very bad one. But this is their problem. And they will have one in the box office and in the hearts of the fans. Apparently this is a trend since this is not the first time for a studio to act like this - see what Paramount did with Tom Cruise. And since Craig is up front and center he will get it. Poor man, he really sucks! Posted on Aug 26 2006 04:03

- I realise that people want to try new things BUT Daniel Craig as Bond shouldn't be one of them , perhaps I should have been Bond " a black man would be a real radical choice " or Eddie Murphy or Colin Salmon !!! no Clive Owen should have been the one , and perhaps after the Casino Royale Fiasco he will be !!!!!!!! Daniel Craig is a terrible choice for James Bond, probably the worst possible choice.
Pierce Brosnan was the best Bond since Sean Connery and he should have been brought back for a couple of more films! Posted on Jul 31 2006 23:02 - Report as inappropriate
