Craig not Bond?

A website has been created with the express purpose of getting the new 007 fired.

Feb 24 2006

Daniel Craig is a favourite here at The TOMB, and while the early word on 'Casino Royale' hasn't exactly been great, the decision to cast him as Bond has us quietly optimistic.

So imagine our shock when we stumbled across this – www.craignotbond.com – a website dedicated to having Craig fired and replaced as 007.

Apparently, they don't like Craig because he is 'a short, blond actor with the rough face of a professional boxer and a penchant for playing killers, cranks, cads and gigolos.'

It all sounds like the work of individuals with a little too much time on their hands but, whatever the case, The TOMB will be content to reserve judgement until we actually see the film at the end of the year.

For now however, if you're a Craig hater, head to the above site and sign the petition, and if you're a fan of the man, perhaps you could set up www.craigisbondsogetstuffed.com.

Daniel Craig has proven time and again that he is a very talented actor - probably the best actor to play Bond to date. I have a feeling that Craig will make the part his own - and bring to the role an edge and a dynamism that has been sadly lacking of late. Connery had that edge; you could believe he could make love to a woman or kill her in equal measure. Craig is a fine bit of casting. Posted on Feb 24 2006 15:14

Daniel Craig is an inspired choice to play James Bond. Ian Fleming would probably hate that he's blond - but then Fleming didn't think Sean Connery was suitable either - he wanted David Niven (who was about as close to Fleming's own description of the character as Basil Fawlty).
In trying to keep up with Hollywood blockbusters the Bond films have strayed too far from reality - an invisible car!!
The very things that the idiots at craignotbond don't like about Craig is what makes him such a good choice. Posted on Feb 24 2006 01:52
