Latest trailer for 'Cloverfield'
Have a look at the excellent (and very scary) trailer for the much-hyped Sci-fi extravaganza, 'Cloverfield'
Dotting around the various film gossip sites and online newsrooms, you can’t help but notice the torrent of idle speculation on a forthcoming action/horror/fantasy/sci-fi film, tentatively titled ‘Cloverfield’.
Slated for release on January 18 in the US and February 1 in the UK, the film is produced by J.J. Abrams (of TV’s ‘Lost’ fame), directed by Matt Reeves (whose last film was the dire David Schwimmer vehicle from 1996, ‘The Pallbearer’) and contains a cast of relative unknowns. But don’t these sort of films usually have to work hard for their box office bucks?
It has certainly used its less-is-more marketing campaign to whip up the public interest, with many still wondering where on earth the movie has come from, what’s it about and why its trailer is so darn great. If you don’t believe us, check it out here.
Very little is known about the movie, but rumours abound that its supposed to centre around an alien attack on New York City, follows a group of twentysomethings who document the event, and is made all the more unnerving by its use of scuzzy, low-fi visuals. Like 'Blair Witch...' with a budget?
The rolling out of information has been slow and slight, but all of this subtle intrigue could, however, easily lead to disaster if the final film doesn’t deliver. The trailer looks great, lets just hope the snakes don’t take over the plane again.
