Guy Ritchie to make gangster trilogy
After a series of high-profile flops, Guy Ritchie is back to making more gangster films
The last time we heard from Guy Ritchie on these shores, he was talking nonsense about Machiavelli, chess and the Kaballah (really nailed his audience there!) as his mangy pseudo-gangster travesty ‘Revolver’ (which has yet to receive the cult status that many predicted) rolled into cinemas in the UK.Looks like we’ll be hearing more from 'the first student in the UK to get a GCSE in film studies' (fact!) soon as he is currently putting the finishing touches to his new film ‘RockNRolla’, an silver-tongued gangster yarn starring Thandie Newton (‘Run, Fatboy, Run’) and Gerard Butler (‘300’).
The real news is that, according to MTV News, he likes what he’s made so much that he’s hoping it will be the first of a trilogy of films. The film also stars ‘Entourage’ star Jeremy Piven and rapper Ludacris and is scheduled to open in the UK in October.
