Speed Racer: trailer

The brothers who brought us the 'Matrix' trilogy are back with 'Speed Racer'

It's been five years since the Wachowski brothers have been credited as directors (they've produced and written plenty), but they're set to return with 'Speed Racer', a live-action version of the classic Manga cartoon.

Young upstart Emile Hirsch is starring as Speed, the racing driver looking to win treacherous cross-country race The Crucible, with Christina Ricci as his bob-sporting girlfriend, Trixie.

'Speed Racer' is released in UK cinemas on May 9 2008.
