Jackson manages hotel of horror
Smauel L Jackson joins John Cusack in Stephen King adaptation '1408'.

Now this sounds like some intriguing casting - Samuel L Jackson has signed up to play the manager of a haunted hotel in the forthcoming Stephen King adaptation '1408'.
The film, which is directed by Mikael Håfström ('Evil', 'Derailed'), stars John Cusack as Mike Enslin, an investigator of the paranormal who checks into the supposedly haunted room 1408 of the Dolphin Hotel.
Jackson's manager tries to talk him out of his decision, to no avail, and the result is a truly horrific hotel stay.
The short story first appeared in audio book format, before being included in the 2002 King compendium 'Everything's Eventual'.
Now everyone knows that there are more bad Stephen King adaptations than good, and at the moment it looks like this could go either way. Håfström's 'Evil' was great, but 'Derailed' was instantly forgettable.
But with a great premise, a talented cast, and King's first feature set in a hotel since Kubrick's 'The Shining', who knows - we could have a future horror classic on our hands!
