Dead cops arrest Deadbeats
David Dobkins has signed up to direct the high-concept supernatural comedy 'R.I.P.D.'.
Apr 11 2006
David Dobkin will direct 'R.I.P.D.' – a supernatural action-comedy based on the Dark Horse comic book that reads like a cross between 'Ghostbusters' and 'Men In Black'.
Telling the tale of the 'Rest In Peace Department', 'R.I.P.D.' revolves around a recently murdered cop who joins forces with a group of divine law enforcement agents charged with ridding the earth of recently deceased spirits.
The 'Wedding Crashers' director will take charge of the high-concept project later this year, based on a script by 'Aeon Flux' scribes Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Comic creator Peter Lenkov will produce.
