Jackie and Jet unite

Chan and Li will star together for the first time in a martial arts epic.

May 23 2006

Martial arts legends Jackie Chan and Jet Li are set to star in a film together for the first time.

The imaginatively-monikered 'Untitled J&J Project' will be based on a classic Chinese legend about a teenager who's transported back in time when he steals a magical staff from a New York pawn shop.

The youngster must then gather a selection of warriors to take on the tyrannical Jade Emperor and release the Monkey King, the only being who can return the teen to his own time.

It all sounds disconcertingly like 'The NeverEnding Story', but plot doesn't really matter in a film like this, and with Chan and Li finally joining forces for an almighty chop-socky fight-fest, expect this one to be huge.
