Wiseman wanted for 'Die Hard 4'

'Underworld' helmer Len Wiseman is in talks to direct the further adventures of John McClane.

May 31 2006

Director Len Wiseman is in talks to trade one franchise for another, departing from the 'Underworld' series to take the reins of the latest 'Die Hard' film.

Wiseman, who wrote and directed the vampire action pics 'Underworld' and 'Underworld: Evolution', is negotiating to direct 'Die Hard 4' for 20th Century Fox.

The action thriller will be based on a script by Mark Bomback and Doug Richardson, and see brow-beaten former cop John McClane coming out of retirement to take on a dangerous internet terrorist organisation.

It's not yet known whether said organisation is a cabal of online movie geeks angry at aging action stars' desperate efforts to recapture former glories onscreen, but what is known is that Bruce Willis will return to the role that made him a movie star nearly 20 years ago.
