Curzon Soho goes football crazy

'The 'Kicks 'n' Flicks 2006' season will take over the cinema from tomorrow.

Jun  1 2006

With the World Cup fast approaching (eight days and counting!), we've got news of a fantastic festival of footballing films heading to the Curzon Soho from tomorrow.

'Kicks 'n' Flicks 2006' is a unique series of screenings and events designed to celebrate every facet of the beautiful game.

Including documentaries, feature films, a photographic exhibition and even a 'Pro-Evolution Soccer' competition, it's the perfect way to prepare for the big tournament.

Highlights include an opportunity to see Devenish and Dino's brilliant documentary 'Goal! World Cup 1966', a special presentation of the classic detective thriller 'The Arsenal Stadium Mystery' (introduced by Peter Gosnell, who was at the match featured in the film), and a screening of 'Mitchell & Kenyon: The World of Edwardian Football', with live commentary from Dr Vanessa Toulmin of Sheffield University.

And with sporting classics like 'The Cup', 'Football Days', 'Shaolin Soccer' and 'There's Only One Jimmy Grimble' also screening, this really is football season not to be missed.

'Kicks 'n' Flicks 2006' runs from June 2-8. To book tickets call 0870 756 4620 or visit www.curzoncinemas.com.
