Edinburgh line-up announced

See what the Scots have in store for us at the 60th Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The line-up for this year's Edinburgh Film Festival has been announced, and it's a fine cinematic selection to celebrate the event's 60th year.

The festival will showcase a total of 163 films from 37 countries, and Gala Presentations include 'Clerks II', 'Art School Confidential', 'Little Miss Sunshine', 'The Night Listener' and 'The Treatment'.

The British Gala line-up also features an impressive array of films, including 'Brothers of the Head', 'Cargo', 'Colour Me Kubrick', 'Driving Lessons', 'The Killing of John Lennon', 'Life and Lyrics' and 'Snow Cake'.

The opening night film is the world premiere of 'The Flying Scotsman' which stars Johnny Lee Miller, Brian Cox and Billy Boyd, while the closing night will revolve around a special screening of Carol Reed's classic film noir 'Odd Man Out'.

In between, the festival will host 23 documentaries, a 1970s retrospective entitled 'They Might Be Giants: Other Voices From the New American Cinema' and a Mitchell Leisen retrospective featuring 13 of the director's films during the festival.

And there will be no shortage of glitz and glamour on show, with Sir Sean Connery, Charlize Theron, Kevin Smith, Sigourney Weaver, Steven Soderbergh, Arthur Penn and Alan Arkin all taking part in live onstage interviews.
