'City Slickers' star Bruno Kirby died on Monday following complications related to leukaemia. He was 57.
The New York born actor was well known for playing mobsters in everything from 'The Godfather Part II' and 'Donnie Brasco' to 'The Freshman'.
Other film credits included 'The Basketball Diaries', 'Good Morning Vietnam' and 'Tin Men'.
However, he was perhaps best known for playing Billy Crystal's best pal in the hugely popular comedies 'When Harry Met Sally' and 'City Slickers' one and two.
'We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from Bruno's fans and colleagues who have admired and respected his work over the last 30 years' his wife said.
'Bruno's spirit will continue to live on not only in his rich body of film and television work but also through the lives of individuals he has touched throughout his life.'
