'Starship' Murphy

Eddie Murphy is set to play a spaceship(?) in his next film.

Oct 17 2006

Having just completed work on high-concept comedy 'Norbit', director Brian Robbins and star Eddie Murphy are to re-team for 'Starship Dave'.

Revolving around a crew of tiny aliens seeking to save their doomed world, the film will take Murphy's penchant for playing multiple roles to the next level. Not only will the funnyman star as the starship's captain, but he will also apparently be playing the titular ship itself.

Sounds more than a little strange, and as Murphy's last foray into comedy sci-fi was the abominable 'Adventures of Pluto Nash', we aren't exactly holding our breath for this one.

But for those interested, 'Starship Dave' will go into production next March and should hit screens by the end of next year.
