Writer tackles 'Atlas Shrugged'

Randall Wallace will adapt Ayn Rand's bestseller, with Angelina Jolie still set to star.

Oct 18 2006

The announcement that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will star in an adaptation of Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged' had TOMB readers up in arms, so we thought we'd better keep you posted on the progression of the project.

Latest news is that 'Braveheart' scribe Randall Wallace will adapt the 1,100 page tome, which deals with the economic, social and philosophical collapse of America.

Wallace, who will start writing his adaptation for Lionsgate immediately, told Variety 'I was fascinated by Rand's book. It was original and provoctive.'

Jolie is still attached to star, although there's no word regarding Pitt's involvement at the moment.
