Is Rachel McAdams 'The Time Traveller's Wife'?

The Red Eye star is in talks to star in the film version of Audrey Niffenegger's bestseller.

Oct 23 2006

'Red Eye' star Rachel McAdams is in talks to star in a big screen adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's bestseller 'The Time Traveller's Wife'.

The hugely successful book tells the story of a librarian who develops the ability to travel back and forth in time, and McAdams is in negotiations to play the titular love of his life, a teenage heiress.

Jeremy Leven (who adapted previous McAdams flick 'The Notebook') has worked on the screenplay, while Robert Schwentke ('Flightplan') and Stephen Frears ('The Queen') are currently vying for the director's chair. Given their track records, we're pulling for Frears, and should he get the nod, The TOMB predicts great things for 'The Time Traveller's Wife'.
