'Doomsday' approaches
Rhona Mitra is the first actor to join the cast of Neil Marshall's sci-fi thriller
Nov 15 2006
Rhona Mitra has signed up to star in 'Doomsday', Neil Marshall's follow-up to his critically acclaimed horror flick 'The Descent'.
The sci-fi flick, written and directed by Marshall, will shoot in South Africa early next year and revolves around a country being walled off after a lethal virus called Reaper tears through it.
Three decades later, the virus resurfaces in another country, prompting the dispatch of an elite unit to the original country to confront its horrors and find a cure.
Mitra, who previously appeared in 'Hollow Man' and 'Ali G Indahouse' (as well as 'The Pepsi Chart Show' opposite fake quack Dr Fox) will play the leader of the group.
