Axel F off
Eddie Murphy will revisit the character that made him a global superstar in 'Beverly Hills Cop IV'.
Nov 30 2006
Mr Scary Spice, aka Eddie Murphy, is preparing to start work on the sequel that no one wants in the shape of 'Beverly Hills Cop IV'.
Murphy will reprise his role as 'maverick' cop Axel Foley in the comedy thriller, in spite of the fact that 'Beverly Hills Cop III' was a god-awful abomination of a film from which his career has barely recovered.
Speaking of the franchise, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said 'Axel Foley is one of the great action-comedy characters, a character that Eddie loves. I'm lucky enough to help bring it back.'
Overstating his case somewhat, he then added 'This genre is missing from the landscape'. No, Lorenzo, it isn't.
