'These Times' set visit

Dave Calhoun speaks to Ken Loach on the set of his new London-set film.

Jan 22 2007

One of the most popular stories ever posted on The TOMB was our visit to the set of Ken Loach's Palme d'Or winning Irish civil war drama 'The Wind That Shakes the Barley'.

It stirred up spirited debate in our comments section, so when we heard that Loach was returning to London to shoot on location here for the first time in a decade, we jumped at the chance to visit the set.

The film in question is 'These Times', an uncompromising examination of the shady world of immigrant workers in the capital, and it is sure to stir up a similarly passionate debate when it premieres on Channel 4 this autumn.

To find out why he and screenwriter Paul Laverty felt impassioned to make the film, head to Dave Calhoun's feature here.
