De Palma declares war
Brian De Palma will head to Jordan to shoot a drama about the war in Iraq entitled 'Redacted'.
Jan 29 2007
After a string of misfires, including last year's muddled 'The Black Dahlia', Brian De Palma has announced plans to examine the Iraq war in new film 'Redacted'.
De Palma will write and direct the feature, which will be shot on high definition film and released simultaneously in cinemas, on DVD and on TV via HDNet, much like Steven Soderbergh's 'Bubble' was in 2005.
The film will concentrate on the different ways in which the modern media covers war, with particular focus on blogs and web reporting.
'Redacted' will start shooting in Jordan this spring, and here's hoping it's a return to form for the 'Scarface' helmer.
