Beckinsale risks 'Whiteout'

Kate Beckinsale has signed up to star in the Antarctica-set thriller 'Whiteout'.

Feb  8 2007

On this snowiest of snowy days, it's somewhat fitting that Kate Beckinsale should sign up to star in 'Whiteout', a film adaptation of Greg Rucka's award-winning comic book miniseries.

Beckinsale will play a US marshal investigating Antarctica's first murder, with only three days to solve the crime before the continent is plunged into darkness and she is stranded with the killer.

Jon and Erich Hoeber have written the script, with Dominic Sena ('Swordfish', 'Gone in Sixty Seconds') set to direct.
