Brian Clough - the movie
Stephen Frears, Peter Morgan and Michael Sheen are to team up for 'The Damn United'
Feb 9 2007
Here's a mouth-watering prospect – director Stephen Frears, writer Peter Morgan and actor Michael Sheen are to collaborate on a film about the life and times of legendary football manager Brian Clough.
The stupidly talented team, who recently worked together on 'The Queen', are set to start shooting at the end of the year.
Morgan will base his script on David Pearce's brilliant novel 'The Damn United', which charts Clough's career throughout the 1970s, when he was manager of both Derby County and Leeds United.
Christine Langer, who will produce the flick, says that the story is 'incredibly compelling and rather dark… A Yorkshire noir that really goes beyond football.' Being a fan of pretty much everything Clough said and did, The TOMB can't wait for this one.

There may well be mention in the film about Forest, but the book was writtin about his time at Leeds (hence Damn United) and was full of his memories at Derby. So this was all before he went to Forest, while he was hating being at Leeds. That's the point of the story!
Jo, most book shops should have it, I've seen it about a bit. Have you tried amazon if you can't find it in a bookshop? Posted on May 20 2008 16:24 - Report as inappropriate
