Robert Downey Jr has joined the cast of the forthcoming action-packed comedy 'Tropic Thunder'.
Written by Ben Stiller, Justin Theroux and Etan Cohen, the film tells the story of a group of actors whose pre-shoot boot camp turns into a real-life war. Downey Jr will play Kirk Lazarus, a four-time Oscar-winner who gets caught up in the fighting, while Stiller also directs and stars.
And in more action/comedy news, Oscar-winner Alan Arkin will re-team with his 'Little Miss Sunshine' co-star Steve Carell for the big screen version of 'Get Smart'.
This remake of the hugely popular 1960s TV series sees Carell play accident-prone secret agent Maxwell Smart, while Arkin will appear as his boss, the head of CONTROL. As previously reported, Terrence Stamp and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will also star, with Peter Segal directing.
