As part of our directors series, Soderbergh discusses new film 'The Good German'.

Steven Soderbergh is making some of the most interesting pictures in Hollywood right now, and new film 'The Good German' is no exception. A tense thriller about greed, corruption and murder in Berlin at the tail-end of WWII, it stars George Clooney, Tobey Maguire and Cate Blanchett and is shot in the style of an old-fashioned film noir.
As a special treat, we've got an exclusive interview with the helmer as part of our director's series, in which he discusses why he decided to shoot 'The Good German' in black and white, how it nearly turned into an animated film and why he thinks that watching the pic could be a distancing experience for audiences.

I thought this was a parody on the "Good Shepherd" The GOOD GERMAN SHEPHERD would put a new gloss on both these films,
