Jigsaw returns to Saw series

Tobin Bell drops hints for Saw 4 and 5

Mar 15 2007

Tobin Bell, the actor who plays the villainous Jigsaw in the horror film franchise 'Saw' is set to reprise his role in the upcoming sequels.

Perhaps a surprise for Saw fans as Jigsaw was apparently killed off in the last instalment, 'Saw III'. Talking at the recent ShoWest awards Bell has said he is still unclear as to just how the psycho role will be revitalised.

'I haven't read the script, don't know the story. I know I'm in it, but that's it', said Bell. 'I don't know what they're going to do or how they're going to do it. Hollywood's amazing; they come up with all kinds of ways to accomplish things.'

Perhaps it's no wonder then that production company Lionsgate are willing to stretch the fibres of their audience's imagination as the lucrative 'Saw' franchise has become something of a box office cash cow.

With a production budget of just $5.1 million, 'Saw III' ended up grossing £78 million worldwide and is one of the few film series where each new film has earned more than its predecessor, along with 'The Lord of the Rings' film trilogy and the 'Austin Powers' series.
