DiCaprio cast as 'Wolf of Wall Street'

Yup - it's another lead role for DiCaprio, this time for his regular partner in crime Martin Scorsese.

Mar 26 2007

This seems to be about the tenth time I've written this sentence in the last couple of years, but Martin Scorsese is to work with Leonardo DiCaprio on a forthcoming feature. The Oscar-nominated pair, hotter than ever off the back of 'The Departed', are to re-team for financial thriller 'The Wolf of Wall Street'.

Based on Jordan Belfort's as-yet-unpublished autobiography, the film will concern the former stockbroker's involvement in a 1990s securities fraud case that exposed widespread corruption and mob infiltration in the banking world.

Belfort refused to co-operate with the FBI on the case however, and ended up spending 20 months in prison for his troubles.

Terence Winter, best known for his brilliant work on 'The Sopranos' will write the screenplay, with production set to start when Scorsese and DiCaprio find space in their busy diaries.
