Broderick and Alda have 'Diminished Capacity'

Matthew and Alan are set to star in a bittersweet comedy about memory loss.

Apr 10 2007

Matthew Broderick and Alan Alda are to unite for a film about loss of memory entitled 'Diminished Capacity'.

Based on Sherwood Kiraly's book of the same name, the film will star Broderick as a man whose memory is swiss-cheesed following a serious hit on the head. Alda will play his uncle (not, as previously reported, his father), who himself is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, and the story will focus on their efforts to sell a rare baseball card at a memorabilia show.

Virginia Madsen and Bobby Cannavale will co-star, with 'Oz' star Terry Kinney directing. 'Diminished Capacity' is set to shoot in New York and Chicago this spring.

Alda isn't playing Cooper's father; he plays his uncle Rollie. Get with the picture. Posted on Apr 10 2007 20:50
