Barbarella is back
The 'Casino Royale' scribes are set to re-invent the sci-fi babe for a forthcoming feature.

Having successfully reinvigorated the James Bond franchise with 'Casino Royale', writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have been asked to give sci-fi classic 'Barbarella' the same treatment.
Based on Jean-Claude Forest's comic book series, the film will follow the adventures of the titular sexpot, brought to life so memorably by Jane Fonda in Roger Vadim's 1968 film version.
Dino De Laurentiis will again produce, and had this to say on the subject: 'Barbarella is the ultimate science-fiction adventure heroine: smart, funny and sexy. I'm excited to introduce her to a new generation of moviegoers.'
Once Purvis and Wade have turned in their script, the hunt will be on to find a suitably glamorous starlet to fill Fonda's thigh-length boots. Our choice? Rebecca Romijn.
