Ridley Scott heads for 'Nottingham'
Scott will re-team with his 'Gladiator' star Russell Crowe in a new take on the Robin Hood story.

Ridley Scott has signed up to direct Russell Crowe (yet again) in a re-imagining of the Robin Hood legend entitled 'Nottingham'.
The British helmer, who has directed Crowe in 'Gladiator', 'A Good Year' and the forthcoming 'American Gangster', will take charge of the project next year, when he has completed CIA thriller 'Body of Lies'.
Based on the script by Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff, 'Nottingham' is a revisionist take on the Robin Hood story in which the sheriff is a noble lawman working for a corrupt king. In a dramatic departure from the accepted legend, he also embarks on a passionate affair with Maid Marian.
Crowe will play the sheriff, with the hunt now on to find a similarly charismatic actor (ie not Kevin Costner) to play Robin.
