Space or Dinosaurs up next for Rodriguez
Robert Rodriguez is in negotiations to direct film versions of 'The Jetsons' and 'Land of the Lost'.

In spite of the relative financial failure of 'Grindhouse' in the States, director Robert Rodriguez is already lining up his next project, and it looks like a toss-up between sci-fi comedy 'The Jetsons' or prehistoric comedy 'Land of the Lost'.
Adam Goldberg recently completed his script for a live action remake of 1960s cartoon 'The Jetsons', which puts the story of a space-age family in pole position.
However, Rodriguez also recently met with Will Ferrell to discuss his starring in 'Land of the Lost', a remake of Sid and Marty Krofft's beloved TV show about a family transported back to prehistoric times.
One potential stumbling block for both projects is Rodriguez's departure from the Directors Guild of America following an argument over 'Sin City' credit, although producers are currently looking into potential loopholes that would allow Rodriguez to press on.
Which will then leave it up to the director to decide whether he wants to go forward or back in time.
