He-Man returns

Joel Silver has a 'Masters of the Universe' film in the works.

May 24 2007

Warner Bros are planning to bring the hugely successful 1980s cartoon 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' to the big screen.

Joel Silver will produce the live-action adaptation, with Justin Marks, who recently scripted the forthcoming Green Arrow flick 'Super Max', on writing duty.

For those not in the know, He-Man was the gimpy prince of planet Eternia, until he raised his sword aloft and belted out the words 'I have the power'. Adam then turned in to He-Man, a half-naked, muscle-bound righter of wrongs whose weekly battles against the dastardly Skeletor were watched by children the world over.

The cartoon has already been given the big screen treatment, although the 1987 'Masters of the Universe' was let down by a terrible plot and a god-awful central performance from Dolph Lundgren.

There's no word yet on who will take the lead this time around, though Silver has revealed that the film will use the same green screen technology that made '300' look so spectacular.

    TRAVIS FIMMEL TO PLAY
    HE-MAN.
Australian actor Travis Fimmel could be the next runner to play He-Man in a live action remake of Mattel's toy series Masters Of The Universe.
Fimmel will be a best choice
to pick as Joel Silver should get into talks with the Australian model on playing the character.
The 1987 Masters Of The Universe with Dolph Lundgren was cheesy and worst so now this remake will not be like the 1987 film it is a restart.
    Thank You.
