'Last Chance' for Hoffman and Thompson

Acting heavyweights Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson are to star in a new romantic comedy.

Jun  6 2007

Oscar-winning actors Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson are taking a chance on a new romantic comedy for Overture Films entitled 'Last Chance Harvey'.

The 'Stranger than Fiction' stars will re-team for the low-budget film which will be written and directed by Joel Hopkins, winner of a BAFTA in 2001 for his feature debut 'Jump Tomorrow'.

The new film casts Hoffman as a down-at-heel man who finds solace in an unlikely companion (Thompson) at his daughter's wedding.

'While writing the script, it was always my dream for Dustin and Emma to play these characters' Hopkins explained. 'I never imagined I'd actually be fortunate enough to see that dream come true.'

'Last Chance Harvey' will shoot in London this September.
