Rachel Weisz has signed up to star in Peter Jackson's long-gestating adaptation of literary phenomenon 'The Lovely Bones'.
Weisz will play the mother of the young girl who is abducted and murdered in Alice Sebold's heartbreaking book. The story then follows the daughter's experiences in heaven while her family try to come to terms with her loss on earth.
Jackson has penned the script with his 'Lord of the Rings' writing partners Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh, with the film set to shoot in Pennsylvania and New Zealand this autumn.
