Brit legends join Cruise pic

Bill Nighy, Eddie Izzard and Tom Wilkinson will star alongside Tom Cruise in WWII thriller 'Valkyrie'.

Jun 19 2007

The cast of Bryan Singer and Tom Cruise's fact-based WWII thriller 'Valkyrie' just gets better and better, with three of the UK's most brilliant performers joining the ensemble.

Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy and Eddie Izzard have all signed up to star in the film, which revolves around a real-life plot to kill Hitler. It's not clear who each will play, with Wilkinson and Nighy just as likely to play dastardly Nazis as they are stiff-upper-lipped Brits. Izzard is a good bet for the comic relief, however.

And with Kenneth Branagh and Carice Van Houten already onboard, 'Valkyrie' is shaping up to be the most-star-studded production of the year, with the film set to shoot in Berlin next month.
