Halle Berry Wins at Razzies

'Catwoman' and 'Farehneit 9/11' are the big winners at the 25th Golden Raspberry Awards.

Feb 28 2005

Halle Berry surprised all of Hollywood by attending this Saturday's Golden Raspberries to accept the worst actress award for 'Catwoman'.

Celebrating 'all things that suck on the big screen', the Razzies have been running for 25 years now, but Berry's appearance marks only the second time a 'winner' has shown up to receive their award (the first being Tom Green for 'Freddy Got Fingered' in 2001).

Standing on the podium, as the audience gave her a standing ovation, Berry said: 'I want to thank Warner Brothers for casting me in this piece of shit.' She then dragged her agent up onstage and quipped: 'Next time, read the script first.'

And it turned out to be a good/bad night for 'Catwoman' all round, with the film picking up worst picture, worst screenplay and worst director for bizarrely monikered helmer Pitof.

George W Bush was also a big winner, scooping the worst actor award for his sterling work in 'Fahrenheit 9/11' as well as being named half of the worst screen couple thanks to his work with Condoleeza Rice (or 'is pet goat' apparently).

The president chose not to attend however.

As it was the 25th anniversary of the awards, special prizes were given out to the worst comedy, drama and musical of the last 25 years, with 'Gigli', 'Battlefield Earth' and 'From Justin to Kelly' winning respectively.

And Arnold Schwarzenegger was also given a special award as the performer who has amassed the most nominations without winning. The governer's grand total currently stands at eight.
