What Those Oscar Winners Did Next

Time Out's rundown of what's in store for the big winners from Sunday night.

With the dust finally settling on Sunday's Oscar ceremony, we thought we'd take a look at what the major winners have planned for the future:

Best Actor – Jamie Foxx

The former comedian's meteoric rise to the top of the Hollywood tree culminated in his predictable Oscar win for 'Ray'. Foxx hasn't been resting on his laurels since completing the musical biopic however. This summer military action adventure 'Stealth' hits the screen, in which he stars opposite fellow up-and-comers Josh Lucas and Jessica Biel. Foxx is also currently filming Gulf War drama 'Jarhead', under the guidance of our very own Oscar-winner Sam Mendes. And after that he moves on to the role of Detective Ricardo Tubbs in the movie version of 'Miami Vice', marking his third collaboration with Michael Mann following 'Ali' and 'Collateral'.

Best Actress – Hilary Swank

Hilary Swank, on the other hand, has been a slightly less busy bee, with only political thriller 'Red Dust' awaiting release and an adaptation of James Ellroy’s 'The Black Dahlia' about to go into production. However, following her mighty boxing exertions in 'Million Dollar Baby', few would begrudge the actress a bit of a rest.

Best Supporting Actor – Morgan Freeman

Since working on 'Million Dollar Baby', the eternally busy Freeman has already made action pic 'Unleashed', Lasse Hallström drama 'An Unfinished Life', police thriller 'Edison' and summer blockbuster 'Batman Begins'. He’s also currently playing 'The Boss' in mob movie 'Lucky Number Slevin', and at present has at least four other projects in the pipeline. Not bad for an actor fast approaching 70!

Best Supporting Actress – Cate Blanchett

Taking a leaf out of Hilary Swank's book, Blanchett has slowed down somewhat since the 2004 double-header of 'The Aviator' and 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou'. However, she did recently complete work on Australian thriller 'Little Fish' and is rumoured to be playing Elizabeth I (again) in Shekhar Kapur's forthcoming film 'Golden Age'.

Best Director – Clint Eastwood

There's currently no word regarding what the man with no name will do next, but since he admitted in his Oscar acceptance speech 'I've got a lot of stuff to do yet', expect something to be announced soon.
