Clooney is a 'Good German'

World War II drama is all set to shoot in September, with Steven Soderbergh directing.

Apr  8 2005

It looks like George Clooney will reunite with Steven Soderbergh for the fifth time on a forthcoming feature.

Following their combined efforts on 'Out of Sight', 'Solaris' and 'Ocean's Eleven' and 'Twelve', the pair plan to make 'The Good German', a drama set against the backdrop of World War II.

Cate Blanchett is also in talks to star.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film 'follows an American journalist who is sent to cover the Allied summit meeting that will carve out control of post-World War II Germany. However, the reporter is secretly there to search for a lost love, and when the body of an American soldier washes up in the Russian zone, he is plunged into a murder mystery.'

Clooney and Soderbergh will produce the film through their company, Section Eight Productions, with a planned September start date.
