The 2005 Cannes Film Festival line-up has been announced, with Jim Jarmusch, Robert Rodriguez, Atom Egoyan and Tommy Lee Jones all battling it out for the coveted Palme d'Or.
Festival favourites Wim Wenders and Lars von Trier will also be in competition this year, the former with 'Don't Come a Knockin', about an ageing cowboy movie star, and the latter with 'Manderlay', the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2003's 'Dogville'.
Artistic director Thierry Fremaux also announced that Dominik Moll's 'Lemming' will open the event, while Woody Allen's 'Match Point' and 'Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith' will also screen, although neither will be in competition.
The festival jury meanwhile (led by Emir Kusturica), has yet to be named in full, with an announcement expected sometime next week.
'Last year we wanted to present the imporance of documentary cinema and animation,' explained Fremeaux. 'This year, there is a return to a certain classicism.'
The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 11-22, and rest assured Time Out will be there to cover it in full, with daily updates appearing on the site.
